5th and 6th class participated in the fantastic READDL programme for the second consecutive year. The boys and girls read ‘The Breadwinner’ and attended the closing ceremony in LYIT with event director Paddy Hannigan and a host of others.
All students took part in the written response competition and Emma in 6th class was successful in coming 3rd place in the 6th class category.
The boys and girls won the overall participation effort with special mention to the presentation of their competition entries. The boys and girls then received a trip to Belfast to explore the exhibition ‘War Torn Children’ by Chilean lecturer Roberta Bacic.
5th & 6th class travelled to Belfast with Paddy Hannigan (ReadDL), Mr Shiels (school principal) and Miss Kelly (class teacher). The children attended the exhibition in the Linen Hall in Belfast followed by a tour of the Belfast murals with Professor  Erimitus and author Bill Rolston.
