We had some very special visitors at school on Friday-our local firemen, who came to teach the children all about fire safety. They arrived in their red fire truck, which caused a lot of excitement in the yard before they’d even stepped inside!
The firemen spoke to the pupils about what to do in case of a fire, how to stay safe at home and at school, the importance of smoke alarms and when and how to call emergency services. They spoke about some of the equipment they use, from helmets and hoses to breathing gear.
The pupils were fully engaged and asked brilliant questions throughout. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn in a hands-on, memorable way and the message of safety really came through. We were very grateful for the time they gave us.
A huge thank you to the local firemen for visiting us, sharing their knowledge and making safety education so enjoyable. It’s a day the children won’t forget any time soon!
