As part of Heritage Keepers, the senior class created a special book all about the townlands around our school in Ballyare. To support our research, we took an amazing tour around the Ballyare area, exploring every townland featured in the book and uncovering lots of fascinating local history along the way. Huge thanks to Michael our bus driver for sharing his expert knowledge and guiding us through the area.
The highlight was when the children hopped off the bus to share what they’d learned about their chosen townlands, teaching their classmates about the unique stories and heritage of each place.
To top off a fantastic day of discovery and learning, everyone enjoyed some well-deserved pizza together. A big thank you to all involved for making this such a memorable experience!
