The school welcomed the wonderful Ms Dolores Francis to 5th and 6th class for eight fabulous weeks of French which have unfortunately come to an end. This was a wonderful opportunity for the children and thank you to Ms Francis for all her instruction.
5th and 6th class have teamed up with Mrs Cunniffe's 4th, 5th and 6th class in Garbally NS in Galway. Here they are opening their first reply letters.
The boys and girls in 5th and 6th class sat back and put their feet up to kickstart ReadDL 2019 in Drumman. They are reading Mr Stink as part of this reading initiative. Check out http://www.readdonegal.ie for more information.
Congratulations to both the U11 and u13 who both came first in Rosnakill Hall in their respective categories which was at Credit Union Level . They now go on to the Chapter finals. The children from 3rd - 6th class in Scoil Cholmcille Drumman welcomed the pupils from the Senior Rooms from both Castletown N.S. and Portlean N.S. to celebrate their Science Day as part of the Peace IV initiative which the three schools are grouped together on. As part of Peace 4, the children from Drumman travelled to the Foyle Arena in Derry for a fun day with the children from Castletown and Portlean.
Junior Infants right up to 6th class enjoyed a day of workshops with Cary Meehan where they looked at water conservation. 5th and 6th class even got to make their own water harvesters.
3rd - 6th class enjoyed two days working with Thomas Brogan on various aspects of history over the past two weeks. Great fun had by all and a lot was learned.
The annual 6th class bake sale which is always extremely well supported by the 5th class was a tremendous success this year. 6th class are pictured below presenting cheques for E372 each to Mr Gerard Gallagher from the Donegal Branch of the Diabetic Association and to Ms Ena Barrett from the Irish Cancer Society.
