Scoil Cholmcille first opened on 1st July 1958. It was a two teacher school with approximately 50 pupils.
The principal was Master Gallagher who was originally from Annagry. His wife Lily was a sister of the late Paddy Carr of the Diamond and she worked as a nurse in both Lifford and Letterkenny Hospital. They lived in Tullybeg where Jack and Phyllis Wilson now reside. Master Gallagher cycled to school throughout his days at Drumman. He retired in 1971.
The second teacher was Mrs Sarah Boyce formerly Mc Brearty from Magheradrummond. She later married and moved to Carrigart. Mrs Boyce came to Drumman School from Tullybeg when it closed. She remained in Drumman until her retirement.
