We had a fantastic Peace Plus Orienteering Day across the school with a range of exciting orienteering activities taking place both in school and outdoors.
Our senior and middle classes walked to Ballyare Woods where they took part in a series of challenging orienteering tasks. The children absolutely loved it! There was lots of running teamwork and friendly competition as they worked in groups to find their way around the courses. The activities also supported maths learning in a fun practical way helping pupils to develop problem-solving skills direction and spatial awareness while enjoying the outdoors and exploring nature.
Our junior classes explored orienteering in the Drumman grounds where they took part in age-appropriate activities that introduced them to maps directions and simple navigation in a fun and engaging way.
We were also delighted to welcome a dance teacher from Pine Hill Studios who led an energetic session that the children thoroughly enjoyed adding even more movement and enjoyment to the day.
Overall it was a brilliant day filled with learning teamwork and outdoor adventure for all classes.
